There are cars you buy with your head, and cars you buy because they stir something in you. The Ferrari Testarossa unmistakably belongs to the latter. It’s the poster car of a generation: broad hips, the iconic side strakes, the low nose, and a silhouette that could only have been born in that era. Penned by Pininfarina, it has the kind of presence the late ’80s and early ’90s are famous for.
This 1990 Testarossa (U9) is finished in Rosso Corsa over a black interior, exactly how you want to see a Testarossa. It’s offered as a true time capsule, showing just 9,468 km on the odometer. You can see and feel that throughout. According to the seller, this example has remained untouched and unrestored, retaining its original factory paint. It is precisely the kind of car collectors gravitate toward: not “made,” but preserved.
In 2017, MECC Classics Maastricht was dedicated to “70 Years of Ferrari”. For this special exhibition, the Ferrari Club Netherlands (FCN) was asked to provide, where possible, one example of each model to create a dedicated hall as a tribute to the marque. The owner was invited to display this very Testarossa. A fitting recognition of the car and its originality. A photo book was produced to commemorate the exhibition, and one copy was presented to the owner as a thank-you for participating (see photos).
The heart of the experience sits behind you: Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 4.9-litre flat-12. No turbos, no tricks, just a mechanical, layered soundtrack that builds as the revs rise. And then there’s the five-speed gated manual. Every shift is a deliberate action. This is analogue Ferrari magic, with a directness modern supercars rarely offer anymore.
For collectors, provenance matters as much as emotion. That’s why it’s a real strength that this car comes with Ferrari Classiche certification (see photos), and is accompanied by a strong documentation file: all original books, including the stamped service booklet and the original Testarossa brochure. Original accessories are also included, such as the Ferrari car cover, seat covers, steering wheel cover, tool kit, and battery trickle charger.
Additionally, a valuation report from 2023 is present, and the seller states that maintenance was carried out, including a timing belt service in July 2025.
In short: this is not just any Testarossa. It’s a rare opportunity to own an icon exactly as intended, with Pininfarina design, a naturally aspirated flat-12, a gated manual, and a level of preservation you rarely see today.
